—Why I Write—

Our first task in the course was frighteningly simple. Write about why you write. Sounds easy right? No long requirements or rubrics to follow, just an exploration of the reasons behind why we do this. If only it was actually that effortless. I had never given much thought to why specifically I enjoy writing.  I could spit out the generic benefits of writing, but actually attempting to discover why I write pushed me to think past what I'm "supposed" to say, and the answer I'm "supposed" to give, and dig deeper to figure out where it all stemmed from.
