As you can see, a large leap was made from my first draft to my second. I always wanted to explore how my relationship with my family changed, but the means of doing so changed entirely. Originally I wanted to try this by writing from their perspectives, but once I tried I realized it wasn't going in the direction I wanted to. So I decided interviews would be a more effective way to still bring in my mom's thoughts without having to conjure them up myself.
